Accessibility

Austin Court is uniquely positioned in a spacious, quiet area of Birmingham just outside the city centre, benefitting from a range of nearby transport options. We offer on-site parking for wheelchair users (subject to advance booking), as well as the tranquillity of calm surroundings with very limited noise disruption.

We're also using what3words which offers an exact map location of the accessible/step-free entrance.

Mobility

  • There is a ground-level entrance into the building and main reception
  • Ramp access to the majority of ground-floor rooms
  • Lift access to the first floor from outside the Kingston Lecture Theatre with further access to the majority of first floor rooms

Please note our lift and door measurements:

  • Lift measurements: Width: 94cm, Depth: 134cm, Height: 210cm
  • Door opening: Width: 80cm, Height: 199cm 

Hearing and visual assistance

What are the facilities/procedures in place for the deaf/blind?

  • There is an IR hearing system in the two lecture theatres
  • Portable induction loops are available
  • Fire safety to include refuge points with intercoms, evacuation chairs, and sledge – Evacuation plans for guests with disabilities
