COVID safe and secure

We’re looking forward to opening our doors on 1 October 2020 for events up to 30 people (including the event organiser), and we want you to know that you’re in safe hands at IET Birmingham: Austin Court.

We’ve been preparing our venue for the return of events, whether that be face to face or hybrid, and want you to know everything we’re doing to be able to host you safely.

Hybrid Events

We know that events are unlikely to go back to the way they were straight away, and we’ve seen an increase in enquiries for our Hybrid event packages. As part of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, our audio-visual services are first-class, so you can rest assured that we’re well practised at hosting hybrid events.

Physical distancing

To make physical distancing easier we’ve implemented a one-way system throughout the building. We’ve also assessed all of our event spaces to make them as safe as possible and have updated our capacities in line with Government social distancing guidelines.

Catering

Catering is an important part of any event, that’s why we’ve prepared delicious pre-loaded lunch options, that delegates can collect and enjoy in their own space. We also want you to rest assured knowing that our catering staff will be wearing PPE when setting up your catering.

Operations

We’ve implemented many changes around the building to ensure all guests, members and staff will be safe and we will constantly be reviewing these changes in line with government advice.
