MBA from Switzerland in Hotel Management so my career to date focus has been managing hotels Switzerland, USA & now UK.

My last role was Operations Manager with the Holiday Inn brand; I was responsible for hotel operations and delivering 100% guest satisfaction.

In my  new role as Venue Manager at IET Birmingham: Austin Court my main focus will be to deliver great customer service by working closely with my team on a daily basis with emphasis on being operationally involved so that have the full opportunity to meet and greet our customers.

Other priorities will include: working on the sales target for the venue and ensuring costs are kept in line. Employee satisfaction and development is also part of the main agenda to ensure we treat our staff as we would like them to treat our clients.

I have worked in the conferences & events industry since 1993 and worked on international events all over Australia, Europe and the UK.

Background in Audio Engineering and live events, specialising in Audio Visual support for corporate clients since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, where I was employed as a Sound Engineer for the Judo & Wrestling competitions.

I have a background in audio engineering and live events, specialising in Audio Visual support for corporate clients since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, where I was employed as a Sound Engineer for the Judo & Wrestling competitions.

In Australia, I managed the AV departments for the Sheraton on the Park Hotel and the Sydney Town Hall, as well as large pharmaceutical congresses at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Since leaving Australia in 2006, I worked as a Production Manager on large corporate events on the continent, and looked after presentation support for Entrepreneurs and Business leaders at central London venues.

  • 2006 – 2010: AV Project Manager for Presentation Service Providers (PSP)
  • 2010 – 2014: Self Employed Production Manager

I will be responsible for all Audio Visual equipment and services throughout the building, which includes two Lecture Theatres and several meeting rooms, as well as all screens, digital signage and video-walls in the reception areas.

I will be managing a team of three permanent technicians as well as any part time additional staff. My team will be supporting me with the running of events, maintenance of equipment and the hiring of additional items as and when they are required.

Operations Manager

As a qualified chef I have worked in the hospitality industry for most of my working life and have a passion for impeccable service and great food.

I was an Operations Manager with a city contract caterer for 12 years and my last role was a Special Projects Manager at the House of Commons.

I am the Operations Manager at IET London: Savoy Place and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the mobilisation and all operational functions of the building.

As a confirmed Petrol-Head I can often be found at a race circuit where I am a Post Chief as part of the Marshalling Team. Highlights include the Grand Prix at Silverstone and the 24 Hour race at Le Mans. I am also an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver
